In recent years, with the rapid development of economy, more and more women have entered the workplace. However, women's social status and economic status are still very low,and when choosing a career, women still prefer the traditional female career. The reason behind this phenomenon is not only the requirements of recruitment, but also the deeper reason is still the problem of social concept. The social concept here specifically refers to people's occupational gender stereotypes, that is,people divide occupations according to gender, thinking that women and men are suitable for different types of occupations. The occupational gender stereotypes about women make it difficult for women to enter traditional male-dominated industries, and at the same time, when faced with career choices, women can only choose jobs with low social and economic status, such as waiters, cleaners and nurses. At the same time, due to the publicity of social equality between men and women and the enactment of laws and regulations, people may deny the existence of occupational gender stereotypes in order to cater to the mainstream of society,or even some people are not aware of the existence of occupational gender stereotypes. However, this does not mean that occupational gender stereotypes of women do not exist. On the contrary, occupational gender stereotypes on the implicit level still affect people's views on female career choice.Imagined contact is an intergroup contact strategy that USES written scripts to interact and operate without touching each other.Previous studies have proved that imagined contact plays a certain role in weakening the stereotype, and the weakening of implicit stereotype is also effective. At the same time, research shows that the more detailed and specific the imagination script of the imagined contact is,the better the effect of the imagined contact on weakening the stereotype is.Therefore, this study will explore the weakening effect of different types of imagined contact on the implicit female occupational gender stereotype, and further explore the influence of different mental representation abilities on the weakening stereotype effect of imagined contact.According to the research problem, this research set up three experiments: experiment 1 by a single class of implicit association(SC-IAT)paradigm to verify whether college students are widespread implicit female occupation gender stereotypes.Experiment 2 explored whether can imagined contact weakening implicit women vocational gender stereotypes and weakening effect of different kinds of imagined contact.Experiment 3 explored the weakening effect of different types of imaginative contact on implicit female occupational gender stereotypes of college students with different representation abilities. The results show that implicit female occupational gender stereotype is indeed common in college students, and the use of imaginative contact can weaken the implicit female occupational gender stereotype to some extent, but the weakening effect of implicit female occupational gender stereotype on college students with higher mental representation ability is better.
