The verb " feed" is an important subclass of common verbs in Chinese.Based on the synchronic description and diachronic study the way of combining the frequency statistics and charts statistics, within the scope of chosen corpus on "feed" kind of verb carries on the analysis and statistics,on the basis of the semantic field of "feed" type verbs to describe and explain, depicting its development process, reveals its characteristics in the process of evolution,to clarify the reason of its development. The text is divided into five parts:The first part mainly introduces the research status, research content, research purpose, research method and innovation of this paper. The second part, from the perspective of the evolution of the semantic field system, briefly describes the number of members, pragmatic characteristics and frequency of use of the Chinese "feed" verb system in each historical period of Chinese. The third part, from the perspective of lexical individuals, explains and analyzes the diachronic evolution of "feed" verbs and the process of "feed" verbs. The fourth part, based on diachronic and synchronic corpus, reveals the law, characteristics and reasons of the development and evolution of the semantic field of Chinese "feed" verbs. The fifth part, conclusion and epilogue, summarizes the whole paper, summarizes the main points and points out some problems. It is found that the semantic field of "feed" verbs has strong stability in terms of the increase and decrease of members and the change of core words in the subsemantic field during the diachronic development. The increase and decrease of monosyllabic members mainly occurred during the transition period between the ancient and middle ancient times. The two members of "?" and "?" quit, and four new members of "?","?","?" and "?" joined.Since then, although the status and frequency of semantic field members have changed(such as the increasing frequency of "?" and "?" in modern times, and the decreasing frequency of "?",etc.),there is no more change in the number of members. In addition, the verb "feed" also has a strong combination ability. In the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States Period, the combined use of semantic field members gradually increased with the continuous enhancement of disyllabic. It is found that the verb "feed" consists of 37 synonymy compounds, among which 11 are still in use today.Statistics show that the combination ability of "feed" verbs is correlated with the frequency of use,and the members with higher frequency of use have higher activity of participating in the combination. There are two main reasons for the evolution of "feed" verbs:One is the internal self-regulation and development mechanism of language, the other is the influence of social and cultural environment outside language. The regulation mechanism withinthe language balances the semantic burden of the members in the semantic field and plays an important role in the disyllabization and the selection of "feed" disyllabic words. The external social environment of language, especially the development of animal husbandry in ancient China,is closely related to the development of "feed" verbs. The prosperity and decline of animal husbandry directly affect the overall development of "feed" verbs and the change of their number of use.
