Use Of Absurdity In Figurative Painting

Since the 1990 s,with the strengthening of the links between countries,globalization has brought great material satisfaction to humankind.In this brand-new social structure,people can’t avoid being involved in the wave of consumerism and hedonism.In a capitalized society,people’s material desires are satisfied and they are also in the dilemma of alienating from social relations.In such a highly developed but contradictory era,some artists are increasingly concerned about the feelings brought about by individual experience."Fantasy" is not only ridiculous and grotesque,but also philosophical and aesthetic.The artist uses the refined absurd language to express his thoughts on real problems through painting.The absurdity of figurative painting can increasingly reflect the psychological and visual needs of people in the current social aesthetic range.Therefore,the study of absurdity is extremely important in the field of painting.This article first understands absurdity and discusses the meaning of "absurdity" in philosophy.Based on the absurdity existing in traditional Chinese and western paintings,explore the historical origin of absurdity in painting,combining the theoretical significance of absurdity in philosophy and psychology,and discuss the absurd allegorical meaning and absurd language in western modern figurative painting.With the development of society,The absurd language in figurative painting will also be diverse.Combined with the background reasons for the emergence of absurd language,the absurd language in the paintings can be summarized to reflect the characteristics of the techniques in figurative painting.Finally,through the deconstruction of individual identity differences and the diversity of visual forms,we explore how absurdity extends in figurative painting.
