The novels of contemporary Chinese writers with absurd consciousness,present a mixture of modern,pre modern,and post modern absurd structural functions and aesthetic features.This paper takes the spatialization theory of time in Bie-modernist aesthetics as the theoretical coordinate and perspective to study this Chinese mixed absurd feature.The theory of spatialization of time summarizes the mixture and entanglement of modernity,pre modernity,and postmodernism.The juxtaposition of space replaces the progress of the times,expressing the synchronic phenomena of modernity,pre modernity,and postmodernism in social,aesthetic,and literary forms.It forms a sharp contrast with the temporal patterns of Western pre modernity to modernity,and then from modernity to postmodernity and even postmodernity.The novels with absurd consciousness created by Mo Yan,Yan Lianke,Liu Zhenyun,Wang Xiaobo,and Li Er have innovated in content and form compared to the absurd novels of Zongpu,Wang Meng,Chen Rong,and Liu Sora in the early1980 s,as well as the absurd novels of Ma Yuan,Can Xue,and Ge Fei in the mid-1980 s,forming a absurd aesthetic style with Chinese national and local characteristics.They returned to the traditional Chinese folk bizarre culture,drew nourishment from folk art,and drew inspiration from modern absurd expression techniques and various postmodern thoughts and spirits,forming a mixed and juxtaposed absurd structure and aesthetic form of modern,pre modern,and postmodern.Therefore,they have a clear historical stage and a mixed nature of ideological content and artistic techniques.Compared with the absurd narrative of the20 th century in the West,this kind of historical stage and ideological content fusion also has distinct characteristics of the times and aesthetics.This paper is mainly divided into five parts.The introduction section raises questions,introduces the research overview,clarifies the significance of this study,and explains the methods and innovations of this study.The first chapter is the sorting and definition of concepts,divided into two aspects.One is to elaborate on the theory of absurdity from the perspectives of philosophical categories,aesthetic forms,and absurd narratives.The second is to introduce the spatialization theory of Bie-modernism,including the spatialization of social forms,aesthetic forms,literary narratives,and the distinction between Bie-modernist spatialization theory and Western social spatial theory and Western spatial narrative theory.The second chapter mainly discusses the structural function of Chinese mixed absurdity,mainly from three aspects.One is the inheritance,deconstruction,and reconstruction of pre modern folk bizarre culture.The absurd novels of Mo Yan,Yan Lianke,Liu Zhenyun,Wang Xiaobo,and Li Er inherit China’s pre modern folk bizarre culture,such as pre modern folk ghost narratives,mythological legends,historical legends,fable narratives,etc.,and integrate modern spirit and modern perspective.After deconstructing through postmodern art techniques,they have formed a Chinese mixed absurdity with Chinese national and local characteristics.The second is the fusion of pre modern,modern,and post modern,which leads to absurd and barbaric growth.The combination of modern and pre modern collages has formed multiple absurd forms,such as the collage of pre modern historical space and modern historical space,the intertextuality of two or more parallel fields,the blending of pre modern rural society,modern and post modern society,and so on.The Chinese mixed absurdity incorporates the deconstructive ideas and various artistic techniques of postmodernism,breaking the traditional historical narrative of arranging and combining in linear order,and showcasing various absurd interpretations of time and space in pre modern history.The third is a postmodern satirical and carnival critique of pre modernity.Chinese mixed absurdity utilizes modern absurdity,transformation,and fantasy literary forms to showcase the mixed reality of modern,pre modern,and post modern absurdity scenes.It expresses criticism of pre modern ideas and concepts through the art of postmodern irony and carnival,including pre modern official centric ideas,power consciousness,patriarchal concepts,and male superiority and female inferiority.The third chapter summarizes the aesthetic characteristics of Chinese mixed absurdity,which can be summarized into three characteristics.Firstly,the aesthetic characteristics of being multi flavored and peculiar,unfamiliar and bizarre.The aesthetic features of the fusion and juxtaposition of ideas,culture,language,and artistic techniques,as well as the unfamiliarity and strangeness brought about by the reconstruction of time and space in reincarnation.Secondly,the aesthetic characteristics intertwined with strangeness and musicality.Including the interweaving of strangeness and music,folk fun,and the interweaving of strangeness and games.Third,absurdity and reality are intertwined with the aesthetic characteristics of both truth and illusion and earthy taste.It includes the absurd writing in the intertwined entanglement of realistic reality and historical reality,which generates the aesthetic characteristics of Skyworth and the earthy aesthetic characteristics composed of multiple contradictory relations.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the reasons for the formation of Chinese mixed absurdity.Mainly discussed from three aspects.Firstly,the impact of social form on the structure of absurdity.The mixed social and aesthetic structure of modernity,pre modernity,and postmodernism has led to a historical stage of contradictions,conflicts,and harmonious collusion between modernity,pre modernity,and postmodernism,and has become the realistic foundation for the formation of China’s mixed absurdity.Secondly,the continuation of the traditional Chinese spirit of practical rationality and the sinicization of Western absurd techniques.The influence of traditional practical rationality spirit and the grafting of folk culture and modern absurd forms constitute the ideological content and expression methods of Chinese mixed absurd literature.Thirdly,the fusion of modern absurd techniques with pre modern musical culture and postmodern thought.The mixed absurdity in China presents a unique aesthetic feature that is different from Western absurdity literature,characterized by the interweaving of absurdity and music.The reason for this is that it not only inherits the pre modern music culture and interesting traditions,but also combines modern absurdity expression techniques and postmodern ideas,thus forming a Chinese style absurdity with both national and contemporary characteristics.
