A Translation Report On Mobile Internet Is Not Just A Connection(An Excerpt) From The Perspective Of Text Type Theory

With the rapid development of the Internet,the vast majority of companies is facing huge changes in business models.E-commerce is evolving into an increasingly popular business model,and whether a company can fully utilize the Internet may be the key to its survival.The formation and development of e-commerce has led to the formation and development of e-commerce English.Under the background of economic globalization,e-commerce English has developed into a commonly used practical style,and it is necessary to study its language characteristics and translation techniques.This report takes the first three chapters of Mobile Internet Is Not Just A Connection,written by Guo Yu,as the source text and Newmark's text type theory as the guidance,and makes case analysis at lexical,syntactic and discourse levels.At the lexical level,the translator adopts the method of free translation and the techniques of annotation and conversion to achieve communicative translation.At the syntactic level,due to the great differences in the logical word order and sentence structure characteristics of English and Chinese languages when constructing sentences,the translator adopts the techniques of combination and reconstruction to realize their communicative features.At the discourse level,the translator adopts substitution,conjunction and omission to make the text more coherent,so as to accurately convey information of the source text and make the target readers get the same reading effect as the original readers,so as to realize their communicative features.In summary,the translator systematically studies e-commerce texts from different levels,analyzes specific cases based on Newmark's text type theory,and summarizes specific translation methods and techniques of such texts from a scientific and rational perspective,so as to provide a reference for the translation of similar texts in the future.However,due to the imperfection of the target text and the lack of professional background knowledge of the translator,this translation practice report has some limitations.The translator only uses her own insights and experience,under the guidance of Newmark's text type theory,to make small contributions to the translation of e-commerce texts,hoping to benefit the translation of e-commerce texts in the future.
