Inferiority, with withdrawal,self-harm or attacking behavior,is the negative emotion of humbleness, shame, pain, and anger caused by low self-evaluation and pessimism.College students' long-term inferiority not only affects their physical and mental health, but also may endanger public safety in extreme way.Cognitive-behavioral therapies, supported by empirical research, are regard as one of inferiority interventions, but they only relate to the cognitive and behavioral factors of inferiority.Satir's Iceberg theory believes that inferiority involves the individual's self-worth,desire,expectation,perspective,feelings,feelings about feelings, coping and behaviour, and develops a series of techniques to improve self-esteem.Self-esteem is the opposite of inferiority. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design an inferiority intervention program based on Satir Model therapy theory and technology, and to test the effect of Satir Model group counseling on reducing the inferiority of college students through comparison with Cognitive Behavior group counseling, and develop the new program of college students' inferiority intervention. In this study,48 subjects were recruited by screening, preaching, and interviewing. They were randomly divided into two groups, the Satir Model group and the Cognitive Behavior group. At the same time,24 inferiority students were selected as blank control groups through peer nomination.Group intervention was performed 8 times for two hours in each group for a total of 16 hours.Subjects' pretest, posttest, and follow-up analysis were analyzed by "The Feelings of Inadequacy Scale" and "The Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire",and members' personal activity perceptions and interview data should be collected. Finally combine two research methods, quantitative and qualitative research,to analyze the effect of intervention on inferiority of college students. The results of the study showed that the Cognitive Behavior intervention group had significant differences in inferiority and automaticthoughts in the prtest and posttest, pretest and tracking test scores(p<0.01),and there was no significant difference in posttest and tracking test; There were no significant differences in the scores of the pretest and posttest, pretest and tracking test, posttest and tracking test of self-esteem.The Satir Model counseling group has significant differences in the scores of inferiority(p<0.05)and self-esteem(p<0.01)in the pretest and posttest, pretest and tracking test, and there is no significant difference in posttest and tracking test. There were no significant differences in the scores of the pretest and the posttest, the pretest and the tracking test, and the posttest and the tracking test of automatic thoughts. There were no significant differences between the two groups in the inferiority complex's posttest and tracking test changes; The two groups' inferiority posttest and tracking test changes were significantly different from the blank group(p<0.001).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the group satisfaction.Conclusions:(1)The Satir Model group counseling can significantly improve the self-esteem of college students and effectively reduce their level of inferiority;(2)The intervention of Satir Model group counseling to college students' inferiority complex has the same effect as that of Cognitive Behavioral group counseling, and it can be promoted as a new method of inferiority intervention.
