Research On Zhuxi's Thought Of "Change Of Disposition"

The essence of Confucianism is to teach people to change their disposition through self-cultivation in various methods.This is true of traditional Confucianism,Neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming Dynasties,and Confucianism in modern and contemporary times.Zhu Xi,as an agent of the Neo-Confucianism in Song Dynasty,attached great importance to the concept of "change of disposition".The concept of "change of disposition" has appeared in Zhu Xi's ideological system many times,which is closely related to his ontology,axiology and theory of effort.It can be said that it runs through the whole ideological system.In Zhu Xi's philosophy,it exists not only as a ultimate goal and result of self-cultivation,but also as a process of self-cultivation.The theory of self-cultivation in traditional Confucianism is called "recovering the moral instinct".On this basis,Zhu Xi absorbed the thoughts of Zhou Dunyi,Zhang Zai,Cheng Hao,Cheng Yi and others since the Song Dynasty,and further interpreted it as "change of disposition",its connotation is richer than the traditional Confucianism,and more accurately,it means that through self-cultivation,the acquired quality of people obscured by disposition can be restored to the virtuous and innate disposition;and the mind obscured by disposition can be controlled of conscience.But Zhu Xi also has the saying of "mind over feeling",although mind and nature is two different concepts in his philosophy,but they are a unified category in human beings,and they are not separated,it can be said that the process of "recovering the moral instinct" is also the process of "getting back the lost mind",and the realization of "recovering the moral instinct" is also the realization of "getting back the lost mind".These two,from the "change of disposition",are only two different levels of the same process and the same result,in the end,it is only to remove the cover of the disposition to restore the true feature of human nature,in order to achieve the state of saints who stop at the best and keep everything in the line.The main ways of "change of disposition" are studying the objects,keeping the right of thinking,practicing personally,insisting and cultivating something.These four ways completely ensure the realization of "change of disposition",which is the necessarily way to achieve the state of saints whit moral and ability,from the point of mind and nature,whether at that time or now,has important significance.Through combing the relevant thoughts of Zhu Xi's "change of disposition",we can not only have a deeper understanding of Zhu Xi's ideological spirit,but also provide some guidance for everyone in the world to "change of disposition".
