China's economy is in a stage of rapid development.Residents' living standards are constantly improving.People's growing material and cultural needs have been transformed into spiritual and cultural pursuits.Under the background of the implementation of the national fitness program,square dancing has emerged with this trend.Square dancing has become a new form of sports and fitness for the broad masses of the people because it is not limited by age,gender,sports basis,simple and easy to learn movements,rich and varied forms of activities,and is convenient to the nearby.This paper takes some participants in Rizhao city's middle-aged and old-aged square dance development community as the research object,investigates and studies the participation of participants in Rizhao city's middle-aged and old-aged square dance,and puts forward relevant suggestions on the organization form,venue distribution,characteristics and content of participants' exercise,as well as the restrictive factors that hinder the development of Rizhao city's square dance,providing reference basis for square dance instructors,lead dancers and organizers,and scientific basis for the guidance and management of Rizhao city's middle-aged and old-aged square dance movement in the future.This paper uses the methods of literature review,questionnaire,interview,practical investigation and mathematical statistics to investigate and study the current situation of square dancing for the middle-aged and elderly people in Rizhao city and the unfavorable factors that restrict the development of square dancing.In the process of investigation,problems are raised and countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the problems.To put forward opinions and suggestions for the further and better development of Rizhao square dance.The results show that:(1)Rizhao's middle-aged and elderly square dance participants are mainly retirees,with female participants accounting for 88.45% of the survey population.The proportion of men and women is unbalanced,the level of exercise consumption is low,and the education level of participants is generally not high.(2)The purpose of participants' participation is to keep fit,lose weight and shape.Most of the dances they participate in are yangko dance and modern dance.(3)Most of the participants' exercise time is in the evening,and the exercise time is concentrated in 60-90 minutes,and the number of exercises is 5-7 times per week.They sweat slightly during the exercise and can participate in the exercise persistently.Most of the participants have participated in performances and competitions,and the music rhythm is mainly of medium rhythm.After exercise,the physical fitness increases,sleep improves,pleasure increases and loneliness decreases.(4)There is a lack of scientific fitness instructors,and the professional skill level of the existing square dance instructors is generally not high,which makes it impossible to carry out scientific guidance and analysis on the health of the practitioners.(5)The site conditions,seasonal climate problems,noise nuisance and other issues are all the difficulties that restrict the positive development of square dancing.Standardized rules and regulations are needed to ensure the development of square dancing.In the light of the problems existing in the development of square dancing for the middle-aged and the elderly in Rizhao City,this paper puts forward five countermeasures,including creating a diversified exercise atmosphere,appropriate exercise venues,guiding scientific exercise methods,organizing performances,promoting the construction of spiritual civilization in the city,and perfecting relevant management systems.
