Subjective well-being is a kind of comprehensive evaluation of individual's own state, which is extremely important for college students' physical and mental health development and future development.Individual and environmental factors such as negative life events, coping styles and personality affect college students' subjective well-being.This study explored the influence of negative life events on college students' subjective well-being,and investigated the internal mechanism of coping style as the mediating variable and temperamental optimism as the moderating variable. In this study,465 college students were surveyed by life event scale, trait coping style questionnaire, subjective well-being index scale and revised life tendency questionnaire, and 382 valid questionnaires were collected.SPSS23.0 was used to analyze the data, and at the same time the mediation effect and adjustment effect were tested by the PROCESS macro. The results show that:(1)college students have strong levels of subjective wellbeing, positive coping styles and temperamental optimism. The difference of temperamental optimism is significantly different in gender, and the temperamental optimism of men is lower than that of women. The negative coping style is significantly different from that of the only child.Compared with the only child, the non-only child is more likely to adopt the negative coping style. The difference of negative life events were significant in the grade, with freshmen being the most affected by negative life events, while seniors were the least affected by negative life events.(2)negative life events, positive coping styles, negative coping styles, temperamental optimism and subjective well-being of college students were significantly correlated.Negative life events significantly negatively predicted subjective well-being and positive coping styles, and positively predicted negative coping styles.Negative coping styles negatively predicted SWB,while positive coping styles and temperamental optimism significantly positively predicted SWB.(3)coping styles(including positive and negative coping styles)play a part in mediating the relationship between negative sexual events and subjective well-being.The mediating effect of negative coping styles were 33.91% and that of positive coping styles were 18.83%.(4)temperamental optimism moderates the relationship between coping styles(positive coping styles, negative coping styles)and subjective well-being,which are consistent with the hypothesis. In additional,it is also found that temperamental optimism can also moderate the relationship between negative life events and positive coping styles. Moreover, temperament optimism can directly regulate the relationship between negative life events and subjective well-being when coping style is not included.
