Pivotal sentences is one of specific sentences of Chinese Grammar,which is one of high frequency sentences.Sometimes,it is one of emphasis of the second language teaching.There is less research on the second language teaching in the academic circles,but the Chinese learners have frequent errors in the acquisition of pivotal sentences.The paper mainly used the error analysis,the questionnaire method,the teaching practice.From the two aspects of the errors of pivotal sentences and the situation of the pivotal sentences' second language teaching,the paper analyzed the learner's acquisition and the teacher's teaching.We found that the learner's acquisition is not ideal,the errors' rate was high,and which occured in the use of various components within the pivotal sentences.At present,there were some problems in the concurrent second anguage teaching about Pivotal sentences.In the specific teaching process,some teachers had unreasonable proportions of the time about explanation and pracitces,and the setting of the exercises was also lack of scientificity;The layout annotations are not very practical in some common second language textbooks.Based on the above findings,this paper wrote specific teaching designs of five Pivotal sentences.And the deaigns selected the series of textbooks of the New Practical Chinese Textbooks as the teaching content,followed the teaching principle of combining function with communication,and used the teaching methods such as situational law and communicative method.Finally,the teaching design of the XiNu and “V”Gei pivotal sentencse were selected,and the teaching practice were carried out at the Confucius Institute at the University of Liverpool.Teaching practices payed attention to the interests and effectiveness,as well as the introduction of cultural teaching.Students had a good grasp of the two types of pivotal sentences and a high evaluation of classroom teaching.
