In the stage of basic education,one of the tasks of English curriculum is to enable students to master certain basic knowledge of English and listening,speaking,reading and writing skills,so as to form a certain comprehensive language application ability.English writing is a communicative ability to express and transmit information in writing.To cultivate the elementary writing ability of the senior students in primary school,we can promote learning by writing,improve the ability of using vocabulary and grammar,consolidate the knowledge we have learned,and then improve the ability of using comprehensive language.However,in the teaching of English writing in the senior grades of primary schools,teachers still use the traditional teaching method of writing.According to the composition content provided in the examination syllabus,they give students some excellent examples of writing to recite or write by themselves without effective writing guidance.Then they make a one-time manuscript.They simply point out the grammatical or vocabulary errors in the composition when correcting.It does not pay attention to students' interest in writing and practical difficulties.In the long run,students lack interest in English writing,improper use of vocabulary and grammar,and weak English writing ability.In order to explore a writing teaching method suitable for senior students in primary schools,the author tries to apply communicative teaching method to senior pupils' English writing teaching.By stimulating students' interest in language expression,communicative teaching method writes on the basis of speaking,lists outlines and clarifies ideas before writing,instructs teachers timely in writing,completes revision through mutual evaluation and teacher evaluation after writing,and finally finalizes the draft.This study demonstrates that communicative approach is helpful to improve the writing ability of elementary school senior students through experimental research,and further tests the feasibility and efectiveness of communicative approach in elementary school English writing teaching by means of questionnaires and individual interviews.The research and practice show that the application of communicative teaching method in the writing class of senior grade in primary school can stimulate students'interest and confidence in English writing,expand students' writing ideas and enrich students' writing content,cultivate students' divergent thinking,make students' writing more logical,promote students' writing level,and also serve as primary school English teachers writing teaching provides a new model.
