The Battle of Sarhu, which took place in 1619,was the first large-scale war between the Late Jin Dynasty(Qing Dynasty)and the Ming Dynasty after the formal declaration of war.The Ming dynasty hopes to complete its work and remove the roots of the "rebel forces" Jianzhou Jurchen. Therefore,it mobilized soldiers, horses, grain and grass from all walks of the country, and mobilized its own country,Joseon,to prepare for nearly a year, and assembled a large number of troops to launch an attack on the Late Jin Dynasty on its own initiative. As a result, the Late Jin Dynasty adopted the strategy of "concentrating troops and breaking each other".The Ming Dynasty totaled four routes of troops, and three routes of troops were defeated and the remaining one fled all the way.Among them,Joseon reinforcements were overthrown. It has always been a hot issue of academic concern whether the Joseon reinforcement army subordinate to the Eastern Route Army really played a role in the Battle of Sarhu.Lee Minhwan, who is from Joseon Kingdom, wrote the book ChaekjungIlok, which records in detail the whole process of the reinforcement's departure from Joseon Kingdom, marching with the Ming Army after they joined forces, and being captured in the absence of success in seeking peace with the Late Jin Dynasty, and eventually returned most of the Joseon military personnel by the Late Jin Dynasty.Lee Min-hwan,from Joseon, wrote a Book ChaekjungIlok, which records in detail the whole process of the Joseon army's departure, marching together with the Ming Army, requesting for reconciliation, being captured to the Late Jin Dynasty and most of the Joseon military personnel eventually being returned, while the Joseon army joined this battle. Therefore,it is often used as a reference for the details of the battle of the Eastern Route Army in the Battle of Sarhu. However, the author believes that more valuable information can be excavated through the ChaekjungIlok. As a Joseon writer,Lee is more objective than people from the Ming and the Later Jin Dynasty when he looks at the problem, and his thinking is also international. This paper consists of an introduction, one to four chapters and a conclusion. The introduction part elaborates the historical significance of the Battle of Sarhu and the related background. In the first chapter, based on the classification criteria of the political forces that belong to the historical documents, the historical records of the Battle of the Sarhu are sorted out and divided into three categories: the Later Jin Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty and the Joseon. The differences among them are listed and discussed.Chapter two briefly introduces the author and works of ChaekjungIlok and summarizes the battle of Sarhu contained in it.In addition, attention has been paid to the many misunderstandings caused by the incomplete communication between the Joseon and the late Jin Dynasty. In the third chapter, from the perspective of operational attitudes and combat attitudes, the role played by Joseon army in the Battle of Sarhu was investigated.Chapter ? summarizes the impact of the battle of Sarhu on the situation in East Asia in the 17 th century. The concluding part explores the unique significance of the Battle of the Sarhu in the perspective of East Asia and its implications for future generations.
