The textbook is the carrier of the teaching content.Through the study of the framework and content of the textbook,it helps to divide the teaching stage,determine the order of teaching,and establish the internal connection of teaching content.The teaching of Chinese characters is recognized as the important and difficult points in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language(TCSL).Combining the traditional Chinese character theory to study the classic Chinese character textbooks for foreigners,understand the concepts and characteristics of its compilation,and then apply it to the practice of TCSL to improve the current backward status of Teaching Chinese Characters for Foreigners(TCCF).This paper takes “Chinese Character Writing Textbooks” of TCCF series of textbooks "Teacher Zhang Teaching Chinese Characters"(2005)as the research object,and uses quantitative and qualitative research methods to study series of textbooks:Firstly,systematically study the layout characteristics of the series of textbooks,Secondly,the three characteristics of "compilation","Chinese character writing,Character-making,and shape radical" are selected as the research focus,to find rules,to find problems,to give suggestions for improvement,to think how to apply the research results in teaching,and to give some targeted teaching strategy.Finally make specific suggestions for the content and strategy of the primary Chinese character teaching.
