The 19 th century is known as "romantic period",during which European Society was turbulent, and Italy, the birthplace of opera, also experienced the test of war.Since the 19 th century,Italy had been unified by Napoleon, but after Napoleon's defeat,it was divided once again. It was not until 1870 that Italy was proclaimed complete unity. It is in such a stormy era that opera has never stopped moving forward in the fire. Many opera composers emerged in Italy during the period, among whom Verdi and Puccini are the most representative and influential ones.Because they were born in different times, their experiences were also different.Influenced by the Italian Renaissance movement,Verdi creates many famous patriotic and heroic opera works, such as the Opera Nabuco.Puccini's life spanned two centuries. He witnessed the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century, which is why his opera composing was unique. They both created many well-known and world-renowned masterpieces. For example,Verdi created Opera La Traviata,Jester and Othello while Puccini did Opera Bohemians,Madame Butterfly and La fanciulla del Westas.Taking Verdi's opera La Traviata as an example, and Puccini's opera La fanciulla del Westas as examples, this paper makes a comparative study of the Tenor Aria in the operas of two composers. This paper covers three parts: the development and evolution of the opera in the romantic period, the comparison of the similarities and differences between the two Opera Aria "Boiling excited heart" and "Please let her believe",the singing analysis of the two Opera Aria.According to these three points, the author will carry out in-depth research and analysis, combining theory with practice and applying theoretical level of knowledge in the actual singing, which plays an important reference role for future learners.
