Pirate stories have a special role, significance and artistic expression in children's literature.Swallows and Amazons series,Peter Pan series and A High Wind in Jamaica, these British children's literature works published in the early20 th century are particularly representative.First of all,the pirate stories in children's literature show the corresponding relationship between children's images and pirates' roles.Pirate's evil corresponds to children's piracy, and pirate's vulnerability corresponds to children's innocence. When pirate stories are presented in the text in the form of children's games, they have two characteristics of comedy and fantasy; When pirate stories are presented in the form of children's maritime adventure, they are full of romanticism.Secondly, the pirate stories in British children's literature in the early 20 th century is consistent with children's psychological needs on the basis of inheriting the tradition of British literature.Pirates who violate social rules and moral traditions express children's desire to get rid of their parents' authority and gain autonomy;the free life style of Pirates releases the wild nature that children are oppressed in their daily life. The prosperity of pirate stories in British children's literature is closely related to the long-standing British marine culture, the loss of British maritime supremacy in the early 20 th century, the inheritance of British literary tradition by children's writers and their rethought on the current situation of British society. Finally, the narrative art of pirate stories further show the interaction between children and adults. To be specific, the opposition and overlap of children and adults, children's imagination of space carried by pirate ship as a special place, and the manipulation of adult narrator's tutor type narrative, bystander type narrative and friend type narrative on children's readers,so as to better serve them.In a word, pirate stories in children's literature not only bring happy reading experience to children, but also provide a space for imagination and a way to release rebellious emotions. The writers deeply explored the special connection between children's psychological needs and pirate stories, and created these children's literature works which are not only popular with children's readers in Britain but also in the world,as well as many adult readers.
