A Report On The Translation Of The Childhood Gone-the Application Of Word-processing Model In Translation Practice

Literature is a door for people to see the world.It will show the characteristics and humanistic spirit of a certain era to people in various forms,and then help readers to understand the history and trend of culture more directly and deeply.Therefore,the translation of literary works is of great value in the field of translation.This translation report will be guided by the theory of word-processing model by Yan Linhai.And it will study how the accuracy and elegency of the words in the literary works can be expressed more felicitous in the target version,which supports that the difficulties encountered during the process of translating can be effectively solved under the guidance of the theory.This translation paper consists of five parts.The first part is the main introduction of the translation project and the source text-The Childhood Gone.The second one briefly analyses the words translation,including three translation steps,relationships between words and difficulties caused by such relationships.The third part introduces the theory of word-processing model.The forth one is the analysis of translation practice.The last part is the conclusion of the whole paper.And it includes that the word is the basic unit of a text,and only by choosing "correct word" can text have "smooth sentence" and "elegant text".
