Research On Trisyllabic Words In Zhaotong Dialect

Zhaotong dialect belongs to the Yunnan sub-dialect of Southwest Mandarin in the northern Chinese dialect,which has the common character and characteristics of Yunnan dialect.Based on the field investigation,this thesis studies the structural features,trisyllabic words and semantic distribution in Zhaotong dialect.The structural features of the trisyllabic words in Zhaotong dialect are reflected in two aspects: first,the prosodic structure,which has three kinds of structures [1+2],[2+1] and [1+1+1],[1+2] is more advantageous;second,the grammatical structure,which has three kinds of compound,additional and overlapping.There are three ways of word formation of trisyllabic words in Zhaotong Dialect: descriptive word formation,rhetorical word formation and reformative word formation.The method of descriptive word formation,through explaining the intuitive and prominent features of things from 11 aspects,names things by this way.There are six kinds of rhetorical methods of word formation: figurative word formation,imitative word formation,metonymy word formation,euphemism word formation,exaggeration word formation and personification word formation.There are three kinds of reformative theories: overlapping,adding and analogy.The trisyllabic words in Zhaotong dialect have a wide semantic distribution,which can be divided into three categories: "reference","statement" and "description".Reference can be divided into four sub-categories: "concrete","abstract","time" and "space".Statement can be divided into two sub-categories: "natural movement" and "social movement".Description can be divided into "state" ”There are 61 sub-classes in the three categories.Based on the field investigation,this thesis establishes a corpus of trisyllabic words in Zhaotong dialect.On the basis of respecting the language facts,it describes them objectively and scientifically.Based on the research of predecessors,it systematically explores the rules of word formation,word-making,semantics,etc.,and digs into the cultural connotation of the words,which has certain construction significance for the study of Zhaotong dialect,and for the trisyllabic words in the dialect the study of language plays an important role.
