A Study Of Bamboo Slips From Qin Dynasty To West Han Dynasty

Libian is a process in which Chinese characters evolve from seal script to official script,marking the beginning of the evolution of ancient characters to the present,and thus an important process in the development history of Chinese characters.This article focuses on the study of the evolution of seal script to official script.The manifestation of Libian is that the Chinese character font turns round to square,the Chinese character stroke line turns arc to straight,and the Chinese character shape becomes complicated and simple to save.As the handwritings of ancient Chinese words,the bamboo and wooden slips can better convey the form of the strokes and the true appearance of the ancients' writing,which provides many conveniences for the study of the evolution of fonts.This article takes Qin to Western Han as the time category,and divides it into four time periods.Each period selects 3 samples,a total of 12 slip samples as the research object.Basing on these 12 samples,this article sets the horizontal,horizontal fold,diagonal,and vertical stroke shape related stroke shape parameters,and analyze the process of slave transformation from the start and end of the stroke,stroke length,and so on.According to the statistical analysis,the total number of horizontal strokes in Qin to Western Han Dynasty's bamboo and wooden slips increased,and the vertical strokes remained basically the same.However,the number of horizontal folding strokes and diagonal strokes decreased,which indicates that the overall number of strokes is simplified.Through the comparison of the four stages of data,the rate of change of the stroke shape in 202-140 BC and 140--50 BC is higher than that in 220-207 BC and50-BC.The changing rate of the stroke shape in 23 AD was in the transition period between Guli and mature Lishu in the first two time periods.The font change has a certain degree of instability and conforms to the law of development of things.This article analyzes the relationship between the stroke shape change of the Qin Dynasty and the Western Han Dynasty from the microscopic point of view,and the statistical analysis of the stroke shape parameters provides a good evidence for the study of the Libian which manifests the evolution of strokes towards simplicity and laterality.
