The main goal of English teaching is to cultivate students' extensive knowledge of English in senior schools.In many areas,especially in areas with relatively backward English education level,there are many problems in the improvement of students' oral English expression,especially their listening and speaking ability.Students are mainly from rural areas,and their educational conditions are relatively poor compared with those in urban areas.English teaching mainly focuses on language teaching and structural analysis,and students generally have weak oral expression ability.Throughout the relevant study at home and abroad,there are relatively few researches on the quality of oral English output and classroom anxiety of senior high school students,especially in rural areas.Therefore,this study aims to provide valuable suggestions for the development of English education in senior high school in rural areas by investigating the current situation of senior high school students' oral output quality and anxiety,and analyzing the correlation between them.Senior high school is of great importance for the growth and development of students.The level of senior high school students' anxiety and the main reasons leading to the anxiety of oral English,as well as whether there is a correlation between them,are worth investigating and studying.In this study,the subjects of the investigation are students in Senior Two in Toudaoqiao,Hangjinhouqi,Bayannur City,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.This school is located in Hangjinhouqi,Bayannur City,with relatively poor economic conditions.Three questions were studied in this paper: What is the anxiety level of the research subjects in English class in the investigated school? What are the causes of anxiety? Is there a correlation between students' oral output quality of English and anxiety?The results shows that:(1)In English class,70% of students presentedlow anxiety and 30% presented medium anxiety.(2)In class,naming,new type course,the teacher answer evaluation,lack of confidence when speaking English,students don't know how to express themselves in English class,and they are unfamiliar with oral English topic,they are afraid of grammar mistakes,and laughed by other students.They are not fluent in oral English,mixing with Chinese vocabulary can cause anxiety.Finally,most students believe that the causes of anxiety come from themselves.(3)There was no correlation between the accuracy and fluency of students' oral output and students' anxiety,but there is a low correlation between the complexity of students' oral output and anxiety.
