Ma Sicong is a famous composer,violinist and music educator in China.He is also the first person who went to Europe to study violin and composition and achieved excellent results.After returning to China,he went deep into the masses of the people and created while performing.In order to enable people to better accept and understand the violin,he incorporated the folk songs of various regions of China into his own creation and blazed a new path of creation.As the first musician in China to integrate Chinese traditional musical elements with western instrumental performance,his works are of far-reaching significance to the development and research of Chinese violin music.This paper takes Ma Sicong's violin works "rondo no.1" and "Suiyuan suite" as examples to explore and analyze.These two pieces are the most representative works of Ma Sicong in his early creation.They are composed of different folk song materials.As they were written in the period of war,they have such contents as hatred of war,longing for hometown and relatives and yearning for a better life in the expression of thoughts and emotions.On the basis of correctly understanding the thoughts and emotions expressed in these two works,this paper explores what kind of "national" expression and playing techniques to make the performance more vivid.
