| This thesis is a report on the author's interpreting practice for International Taewondo Federation Seminar.On August 4th,the Liaoning Province Association of China International Taekwondo Federation hosted the “2019 International Taekwondo Federation Seminar”,in which the author was assigned as the interpreter for liaison interpreting.Her task included interpreting for taekwondo technical exchanges,a visit to the Shenyang Imperial Palace,a banquet and other activities,an hour of interpreting in all,which requires the author to have liaison interpreting skills and be familiar with relevant knowledge in the field of Taekwondo.This interpreting task is typical of the features of bidirectionality,informality and spontaneity,a manifestation of liaison interpreting and its complexity.A simultaneous multi-task leads to the problems of omission and loss in information.It also happened during each of the sections of this interpreter's engagement.Through reflection,the author found that there are three main reasons for the lack of information in this practice.They are the loose structure of the source language,high density of information and listening comprehension obstacles respectively.These problems have reduced the quality of the interpreting output.By analyzing the author finds that the Interpretative Theory can solve the above-mentioned problems well.Interpretative Theory proposes that interpreting is based on the principle of conveying the message,and the meaning is the core of interpreting,so the interpreter should conduct the process of deverbalization and reformulation on the basis of a full understanding ofthe source language and finally deliver the information to the other party.Under the guidance of this theory,the author presents corresponding interpreting strategies to solve the above three types of problems through reformulation,semantic compression and reasonable anticipation and guessing,thereby achieving better communicative effects. |
