Research On Tianjin Child Relief In The Early Period Of The Republic Of China(1912-1927)

In the early period of the Republic of China,flood and drought disasters occurred frequently in Tianjin in successive years,and wars were coming and going.As an important area to protect Beijing,Tianjin became a relief center.The number of victims and children increased sharply,child abandonment and trafficking were also on the rise,so saving the children is imminent.In the late Qing Dynasty,children's philanthropy has begun a modern transformation.Under the stimulation of the special historical period of Tianjin at the early repulican period,it also continued to transform from "traditional" to "modern" development.When the Republic of China was inaugurated,both the Nanjing Interim Government and the Beiyang Government were busy in stabilizing the political situation.Charity was not a top priority,so there was no time to take care of children's relief.The weakness of official relief forced social groups for intervention in children's relief.Since the beginning of the the Early repulican period,various types of child assistance institutions organized by folk have entered a new transformation period.As the main force,they not only cooperated with local governments,but also focused on parenting and educating,and accelerated the speed of modernization transformation.In this process,various types of child assistance agencies showed the true level of development of Tianjin child relife and a true portrayal of charity.
