As a critical part of language teaching and learning,many educators play great emphasis on writing.However,middle school students are still taught by teachers using traditional writing teaching method in class nowadays,which lacks the development of students' motivation and innovation.Interactive writing instruction combined with advanced technology in English writing teaching,can effectively solve this problem.The aim of this research is to explore the effectiveness of computer-supported interactive writing instruction for junior middle school students in English writing teaching and solve the problems of traditional writing instruction.The following three research questions are primarily addressed:1.What perceptions do the students have about English writing after using computer-supported interactive writing instruction in writing teaching?2.What effects does computer-supported interactive writing instruction have on students' learning motivation in English writing?3.To what extent does computer-supported interactive writing instruction improve students' English writing achievements?This experimental research was conducted in Shiren Junior Middle School,Donggang City,Liaoning province.It started from 5th September to 20 th November,2019.This research took 16 weeks.Two parallel classes including 88 students of Grade One were the primary research participants.After choosing,Class one was the experimental class(EC)and Class Two was the control class(CC).To research the questions,qualitative and quantitative methods consisting of questionnaires,tests and the interviews were used.SPSS software was a necessary instrument to collect and analyze the research data.The research findings indicate that computer-supported interactive writing instruction helps the students in EC to improve their positive perceptions of English writing and promote their writing motivation prominently.Moreover,it has a noticeable enhancement in their writing achievements,which means it enables them to improve their writing skills.Accordingly,it is an effective method for middle school students in English writing teaching.Eventually,pedagogical implications and suggestions brought up are expected to contribute to English writing teaching and further research.
