In recent years,English listening and speaking ability is one of the most important abilities in English learning.Although students pay more and more attention to English listening and speaking,except for the first tier cities,most cities rely on teachers as the center of English listening and speaking teaching.The traditional teaching method is not conducive to cultivate students' learning attitudes and autonomous learning abilities.Therefore,in this paper,podcasting and heuristic teaching method are combined to explore the effective way of English listening and speaking learning.This paper mainly studies the role of podcasting centered mobile assisted language learning in listening and speaking teaching,to solve the questions in traditional English listening and speaking teaching.This research seeks to address the following questions:Question 1: What does Podcasting have on learner attitude for junior high school students' English listening and speaking? Question 2: What does Podcasting have on learner autonomy for junior high school students' English listening and speaking? Question 3: Can Podcasting improve junior high school students' achievement in English listening and speaking?In order to solve the above questions,the research started an 18 weeks education experiment from September 2,2019 to January 10.The subjects were selected from two classes of Grade 8 and divided them into two classes,the EC and the CC,with a total of 61 students.The research methods include questionnaires,tests and interviews.With the help of data analysis software,all the collected data is analyzed by qualitative and quantitative analysis methods.Finally,the research shows that the EC of using podcasting teaching has some improvement in learning attitude and autonomous learning ability.Students no longer only practice listening and speaking in classroom,but also practice at everywhere and anytime.However,at the end of the experiment,there is no significant difference in listening and speaking ability between EC and CC.It does not exclude the problems of experimental variables,such as too short experimental time,or students' poor listening and speaking ability.At the end of this thesis,the significance and suggestions are analyzed.This research can fill up a small part of the research vacancy for English listening and speaking education.
