In the context of economic globalization,the international trade distance is shortened,and technology companies will launch or publicize their products through live broadcast conferences.It is of great significance for the simultaneous interpreters to help audiences overcome language barriers,clearly and directly present their products before consumers.Currently there is little research in this field,therefore,the study of simultaneous interpreting of electronics product launch will be a work worth exploring in depth.This thesis selects Huawei's new product launch at International Funkausstellung Berlin(IFA)of September 6,2019,as a research corpus.Under the guidance of Gile's Effort Model,through recording and analyzing interpreters' audio and video of the launch,and by employing the methods of classification and exemplification,this thesis analyzes and discusses the influential factors of effort distribution on the quality of interpreting with regard to four aspects,namely listening and analysis,short-term memory,production,and coordination.Gile's Effort Model holds that a simultaneous interpreter's effort load consists of listening and analysis,production,short-term memory,and coordination.If one's effort exceeds the load in one aspect,it will affect the effort distribution in other aspects.The Effort Model has a clear guidance for simultaneous interpretation in electronic product launching conference.Simultaneous interpretation requires high efficiency for those interpreters who must follow the spokesperson's footsteps to ensure consistency.Interpreters also face difficulties such as complex working environment,fast speed of source language,accent interference,excessive technical terms,a large amount of information or digits and so on,and their cognitive systems have always been under high load.The author of the thesis,therefore,proposes some coping strategies through an onsite case study: preview and forecast,syntactic linearity,memory training and number interpretation practice,simplification and generalization.It is hoped this study can provide more insight into the research in the simultaneous interpretation of electronics product launch to promote the ongoing development and research in this fledgling field.
