"Lian" has a variety of parts of speech, which can be a word independently,or can be used to form words with other morphemes. When "Lian X" is used in context,it will form ambiguous strings due to the influence of context, which mainly manifests in three forms: word, phrase, and cross-layer component. In order to make the computer to better recognize these three different lexical status,we selected “Lianjie”,“Liansheng”,and “Liantian” as typical cases for demonstration analysis on the basis of comprehensive inspection. The full text is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the object of this paper,to define the significance of topic,to summarize the current research status of "Lian",the synchronic vocabulary status and Chinese automatic word segmentation status,to introduce the theoretical methods to be adopted. Finally list the source of the corpus. The second part is the main text, which mainly includes chapter 1 to chapter 4.The first chapter is a comprehensive inspection of the synchronic lexical state of "Lian X",which analyzes the states of "Lian X" when they are words or non-words,summarizes the reasons that affect the formation of different lexical states, and introduces the principles of selecting typical examples for inspection.Chapter 2 to chapter 4 are the inspection of typical examples. We selected three typical examples based on the principles of high frequency and typicality, which mainly concludes "Lianjie" consisting of "Lian" + verbal morpheme,"Liantian" and "Liansheng" consisting of "Lian" + nominal morpheme. We find that the words composed of "Lian" + verbal morpheme generally have three lexical status: word, phrase, and cross-layer component, while the words "Lian" + nominal morpheme usually have only two types of words: word and cross-layer component. From the perspective of semantic collocation,we analyze the lexical states of three words and their judgment conditions. The third part is the conclusion part, which is the fifth chapter.Based on the analysis of the above examples,we further summarize the conditions for identifying the lexical state of "Lian X" from the aspect of "Lian" + nominal morpheme and “Lian”+ verb morpheme. In addition, the follow-up research of this article is also prospected,in order to better help the computer recognize the lexical state of "Lian X" in modern Chinese.
