The Buddhist story murals painted on the east and west walls of the Anguo Temple Buddhist Temple in Lishi District,Luliang City,Shanxi Province are one of the better-preserved Qing Dynasty Buddhist story murals in Shanxi Province.The murals are rich in content,and are very distinctive from content to arrangement.It reflects many social thoughts of the Qing Dynasty,and provides a basis for us to further understand the political culture and humanities of the Qing Dynasty.Judging from the composition and arrangement of the murals,the Angou Temple Buddhist story murals are framed in comic styles,but unlike the other Buddhist stories in other temples,it is not arranged in order,but the murals are divided into two parts as a whole.The upper part is The story of Sakyamuni after he became a Buddha,the lower part is the story of Sakyamuni before he became a Buddha;from the content of the murals,the Angu Temple mural highlights the part of Sakyamuni who said goodbye to his family when he was about to become a Buddha.In addition,there are also scenes of "Lan Deng Ji Ji",and the related story "Ghost Mother Looking for Children",which are not common in other Buddhist temples.In terms of artistic characteristics of murals,Buddhist stories in Anguo Temple The murals are painted with fine brushwork,mainly with turquoise,cinnabar,turquoise,and ink colors,with beautiful colors,vivid images,and complete preservation.Therefore,this paper uses a combination of image analysis and text analysis research methods,combined with field research and literature data,and intends to explore the murals of the Angu Temple Buddhist Stories from the four parts: the first part is to select the Angu Temple Buddhist story murals.The purpose,significance,and research status of Anguo Temple's Buddhist story murals;the second part is an overview of the temple of Anguo Temple and its historical evolution;the third part is a description of the content of Anguo's Buddhist story mural,which is more important than the others in the picture The special images of the murals are explained.According to the content of the inscription,the murals of Anguo Temple are dated compared with the murals of Zhenguo Temple.The fourth part is the analysis of the characteristics of murals of Anguo Temple,which are carried out from the aspects of art and content.Explained and analyzed the reasons for its formation.
