The report is based on the translation of chapter 2 and the first half of chapter 3of Moral Limit and Possibility in World Politics.In order to provide a new vision for solving global problems,the author of the book analyzes the role constructivism plays in the field of international relations.Characterized by clear stance,the book embraces rich attitude resources.How to make the readers of the translated text acquire the same reading experience as those of the source text and resonate with the author is a big problem that the translator encountered in the process of translation.Therefore,this report focuses on the translation of stances.In this political text,the attitude of the author is seldom expressed directly,but through the evaluation of actions and things.According to the appraisal objects,the stances in this text can be divided into two categories: the stances of judgment on actions and those of appreciation on things.To deal with stance problems in the source text,the strategy of domestication is employed in translation with the methods of literal translation and free translation as well as the skills of addition and deconstruction.Based on specific cases and relevant theoretical knowledge,the translator makes in-depth analysis of the translation of stance problems in this report,studies the difficulties and prominent problems,and summarizes corresponding methods,hoping to provide some references for the translation of stances in related fields.
