With the improvement of China's comprehensive national strength,China has become the focus of attention in the world, and Chinese leaders' political speeches are more and more frequently translated into different languages. As an essential and vital part of diplomatic activities, the goal of political speech is to make other countries correctly understand the information conveyed by China and to create a strong public opinion for cooperation with China in order to achieve the purpose of cooperation. In 2017,the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing In order to solve the economic problems facing all countries in the world and promote regional economic ties and cooperation,Xi Jinping delivered a series of speeches during the forum.Xi Jinping's Important Speeches at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is the first political material on the Belt and Road initiative. It has thoroughly expounded the spirit of Silk Road and the content of the Belt and Road Initiative negotiating with all participating parties, which has aroused strong repercussions both at home and abroad.Scholars in translation circles have conducted studies on the translation of the speech texts from different perspectives, but Eco-translatology-based studies are rarely seen.Hu Gengshen's Eco-translatology was born in the early 21st century, and has matured into a set of theory system, which can guide the translators to make adaptive selection from multi-dimensional transformations in the translation processTaking the Belt and Road as the background and guided by the theory of Eco-translatology,this thesis will study the translational eco-environment of Xi Jinping's Important Speeches at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation from four aspects:translators, readers, source language and target language, and will analyze what kind of adaptive selections are made by translators to make adaptation to the translational eco-environment in the process of translation according to the translation principle of three dimensional transformations. The research shows that the study on the translation of the important speech texts of Xi Jinping'sImpsortant Speeches at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation from the perspective of Eco-translatology can not only provide a new theoretical perspective for the study of its translation as well as a systematic guidance for a study on the translation methods and strategies of relevant political speech texts in the future, but can also help to promote the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative.
