In recent years,China's international status is increasingly rising.People from all over the world are eager to know more about China, and at the same time,China also wants to spread its voice to the world.Chinese leaders' speeches are an important window for them to know about China,so translators shoulder great responsibilities of translating political speech texts in a proper way so that foreign people can understand China' governance polices, long history and splendid culture. This thesis employs “Eco-translatology” theory by Professor Hu Gengshen as the theoretical foundation and studies its application in the political speech texts. At first, this thesis conducts a systematic literature review. Then it analyzes the translational eco-environment of The Governance of China, including translators, readers, source language, target language as well as social environment and verifies that translators make adaptive selections from linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions. The conclusions are as follows: The translational eco-environment of The Governance of China changes, especially the readers and style of the speech.According to Eco-translatology,translators should adapt to translational eco-environment and make adaptive selections based on three-dimensional translation principles. It is found that from the linguistic dimension, when translating vocabularies with Chinese characteristics, translators should employ literal translation with annotation or free translation method to make it easier for foreign readers to understand. In the translation of sentences, translators should add subjects or linking words or change the voice to make the translation more authentic. When translating rhetorical devices, translators should avoid repetition or change the vehicles or employ literal translation method to achieve the rhetorical effects. As for the cultural dimension, translators should adopt literal translation with annotation or free translation method to translate some culture-loaded words and employ literal translation method or add explanation to translate old sayings and lines of poetry regarding the cultural differences between Chinese readers and foreign readers. In terms of the communicative dimension, translators should employ omission or free translation method to achieve the communicative purpose so that the foreign readers can know about China's polices and fundamental stance in dealing with foreign affairs. It provides a new view for its translation studies to study the translation of The Governance of China from the perspective of Eco-translatology.Also it helps foreign readers further know about China. In this way,China's influence can be enlarged and Chinese culture can be spread broadly.
