Reading,as one of the four language skills,has always played an important role in English learning.Moreover,reading takes up a high proportion in the College Entrance Examination.However,in senior high school English teaching stage,reading has always been the weakest part in teachers' teaching and the most serious part for students.Although teachers have spent a lot of time and energy finding the most effective methods,the effect is still unsatisfied.Reading effect is influenced by many factors,and affection is one of them.As a new teaching method,affective teaching model starts from students' affective experience,which not only fully considers students' psychological feelings and affective reactions,but also enables students to feel more respect and understanding,and is conducive to stimulate students' strong interest in learning and improve English learning efficiency.This thesis is guided by humanistic psychology and affective filtering hypothesis,drawing on the relevant research of domestic and foreign experts and scholars,and to answer the following two questions:1.What is the effect of affective teaching model on senior two students' English reading achievement?2.Which type of English reading questions is improved more significantly by affective teaching model?The study uses the experiment study,the subjects of the experiment are 90 students from class 10 and 14 of senior two of senior high school in Chabuchar County.The experimental class adopts the affective teaching model,while the control class adopts the conventional reading teaching model.Through SPSS17.0,the results of the the pre and post reading tests of the two classes were statistically analyzed.The experimental results showed that:1.The reading teaching of affective teaching model can improve students' English reading.2.The reading teaching of affective teaching model is more significantly in the improvement of the Detailed Understanding Question.The experimental results verify the validity of the affective teaching model in improving students' reading ability.Therefore,it is of positive significance to carry out the reading teaching of affective teaching model in senior high school English.This study provides a reference for the further research and promotion of affective teaching model,and for later researchers to explore more deeply,so that it can better improve students' reading ability.
