This article takes the cultural textbook "Chinese Culture" edited by Han Jiantang as the research object,compares the textbooks,supplementary materials,and tips of the first edition in 1999 and the third edition in 2018 of the textbook,studies the changes,and then displays the two editions of the textbook in China,analyzes the shortcomings of the country's image and makes some suggestions of its own.Through analysis,the changes of the two editions of textbooks have positive effects and negative effects for displaying the image of China.The positive effects are easier to understand the content,more cultural contrast,and more prominent characteristics of Chinese culture;the negative effects are mainly concentrated in some inaccurate content,improper deletion of content,and improper use of words.But generally speaking,the content of the third edition is more accurate than that of the first edition,and the content is more unified and compact,which is better than the performance of China's national image.However,there are some common problems in the two editions of textbooks:1.Some content is outdated;2.Some content has a cultural superiority 3.Some of the content is more literary;4.Less objective introduction;5.The ratio of traditional culture to modern culture is unbalanced;6.More cultural contents of implements,less ideological and institutional cultural contents.In view of these problems,the author puts forward some suggestions for the preparation of textbooks: 1.Pay attention to the cross-cultural awareness of textbooks;2.The language is easy to understand and reduce the literary language;3.Both traditional and modern culture are equal;4.A fair attitude,reducescultural superiority;5.Pay attention to the balance of utensils,ideology and system culture.
