The Translation Practice Report Of The Crest Of The Continent

This translation practice report is analyzed based on the translation of eighteenth to twenty-seventh chapters of the book The Crest of the Continent.Focusing on textual coherence and combining traditional translation techniques,this report discusses practical translation methods to ensure the coherence of the target text.This practice report consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction of the translation practice task.The second part is the task process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation correction.The third part is the current research status of the coherence theory.The fourth part is the case analysis,which discuss the typical examples at the level of semantics,syntax and pragmatics to summarize some practical translation skills.At the level of semantics,translation skills like explicitation of pronouns and addition are adopted;at the level of syntax,translation skills like adjustment of sequence of components in sentences and conversion in linguistic unit are used;at the level of pragmatics,it analyzes skills like free translation and annotation.The fifth part is a summary and some reflections of translation practice.
