The Translation Of Logic In Argumentative Text

This translation practice report is based on the second chapter of The Transnationalized Social Question.And the translation problems encountered in the process as well as corresponding solutions are discussed.The source language text is the argumentative writing.The genre features of the text and the linguistic features of the English language make the source language text obvious with rigorous and clear logic as well as strong connectivity.Due to the existing language differences between Chinese and English,what strategies should be adopted to make the target text have the same logical connection as the source text serving as the difficulty and focus of this translation practice.On the basis of the specific problems in the translation process,this report takes Professor Hu Zhuanglin's theory of logical connection as the framework with four parts,that is,adding,adversative,causal and space-time.Besides,related translation techniques of amplification,division and restructuring are adopted to make the target text have the same logical connection as the source text.After writing this translation report,the author has a more systematic understanding of the translation of logic in argumentative text.The author summarizes corresponding translation skills according to various logic translation problems in specific examples,aiming to provide references to the translation of argumentative text in the future.
