The report is expected to sort out the problems in translating children's literature and put forward the corresponding translation strategies with the English literature The Unpredictability of Being Human as the source text.In the translation process,it was found that the biggest difficulties of translating children's literature lies in how to achieve the aesthetic representation and embody the aesthetic style of children's literature. In other words,it is difficult to convey the aesthetic sense of the source text and make the translation in conforming with children's knowledge reserve, life experience and reading expectation. To systematically analyze this problem, this report carried out the detailed exemplification and explanation of the aesthetic representation from formal and non-formal system respectively based on the well-known translator Liu Miqing's classification upon aesthetic translation. In this practice, the problems of aesthetic representation in formal system were centered on the three aspects of sound, vocabulary and sentence;while the problems in informal system were reflected from other two aspects of culture and emotion. To deal with the specific translation problems, the translation skills and strategies of domestication,splitting-off,amplification,etc.are adopted.Through the translation practice, the translator's analytical capacity and translation skills has been enhanced to a certain extent, meanwhile,a understanding of children's literature translation has been deepened. Moreover,it is hoped that this report can help the children's literature translators and readers to enrich aesthetic experience, improve aesthetic consciousness and comprehend aesthetic functions.
