In globalization,Chinese mythology,as the cradle of the birth of traditional Chinese culture,is not widely spread abroad,and is not well used in teaching Chinese culture as a foreign language.This phenomenon is a pity for the teaching of Chinese culture to foreigners and the spread of traditional Chinese culture.Furthermore,the current Chinese language teaching in foreign countries places too much emphasis on Chinese listening,speaking,reading,and writing skills,neglecting students' cultural feelings and needs,and the role of culture in teaching.In view of the above reasons,this article starts with mythology,explores the advantages of introducing Chinese mythology into the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,investigates the teaching practice and teaching effect of Chinese mythology in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,and gives suggestions on teaching reflection.This article is divided into five parts.The introductory part mainly elaborates the purpose of this article and the significance of research,and combs the research status of Chinese language teaching and Chinese mythology.At the same time,based on the relevant literature,it analyzes the difficulties and solutions faced by Chinese mythology in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The first chapter is an overview of myth based on teaching Chinese culture as a foreign language.According to the necessity of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the author analyse characteristics and classification of myths as well as the functions.The second chapter mainly analyzes the advantages of Chinese mythology in the classroom of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Starting from the comparative analysis of Chinese and foreign mythology,it summarizes the commonalities ofChinese and foreign myths,and reduces learners' fear through commonality.In addition,the author compares the difference between values and thinking pattern,in order to understand the value of applying Chinese mythology in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and reduce the probability of cross-cultural conflicts in the learning process.The third chapter is the theoretical basis and instructional design of Chinese mythology used in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Combining the characteristics and advantages of Chinese mythology,the author takes multiple intelligence theory as the guide and chooses teaching method,discussion method,and experiential teaching method as the main teaching methods.Then,it makes the instruction design and implements it in the classroom.The fourth chapter is the investigation and analysis of the teaching effect of Chinese mythology used in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The author investigates the basic information of participants in practice,and analyze them.After the teaching practice,the author collects learners' opinions through questionnaire survey and analyzes the existing problems based on classroom effects.lastly,the author proposes corresponding solutions.
