On The Art Of Chinese Drama Director Li Lihong

Li Lihong is an active director with profound artistic attainments on the contemporary stage.In a career spanning nearly 50 years,he has traversed the stage from front to back,from actor to director,with a reverence for the dramatic arts and an enterprising personal spirit.At the beginning of his career as a drama director,Li Lihong was mainly engaged in drama creation,and his works have won great achievements in Henan province and even the whole country for many times.In the end of the 20th century,Li Lihong happened to get a chance to contact with Yuju.He put his work experience and personal thinking into practice,and gradually began to shift the focus to"the director of Chinese traditional drama".There is a profound dramatic history in Henan,but in the last two decades of the 20th century,it became poor in theatre,"as the older generation artist fade-out drama scene,Yuju in the 80 s to 90 s almost lost its creativity.Getting no highest award in the national competition,Yuju has been described as"vulgar and superficiality".That is a great pressure and shame for Henan."^?1?In such circumstances,Li Lihong was ordered to direct the Yuju named Xianghun Girls.By the guidance of Li Lihong and the cooperation of creative team,Xianghun Girls won the grand prize in the 6th China Art Festival.From drama to Yuju,and then from Yuju to other dramas,also including film or other stage art,it is the most important thing that Li Lihong has never given up.A long journey can be covered only by taking one step at a time.From a director of Henan province to being nationwide,this change and development basing on his experience of more than 30 years,originating from his profound understanding of drama,his unique style cultivation and personal artistic practice summary.To discuss the directing characteristics of Li Lihong is the main object of this paper.This paper focuses on the drama works directed by Li Lihong.Through the longitudinal creation process review and comb to analyze his work and the formation of director's style.By crossing contrast and combining with the two books named"The Director's Thinking of Li Lihong"and"The Director's View of Li Lihong",as well as for other articles published and interview for him,further analyze the characteristics of artistic creation.Then summarize the successes and failures,to explore the applicability and realistic value of his directing art in current drama creation.
