| In photography,Women are often in the "viewed" position,and their work achievements are obscured by the discourse right system of the patriarchal society.After the reform and opening up,China’s photography has entered a new stage,and female photography has also exhibited diverse characteristics.Analysis of women’s work in the field of photography creation and non-creation can provide a new perspective on the development of photography;the germination and awakening of women’s gender awareness is an important basis for research as a "viewing power" issue.This paper sorts out the development of Chinese female photography from the reform and opening up to the new century(1978—2000),which analyzes the role of women in the photography,not only the creation of female photographers but also the female photo theorists and female photo editors.After the reform and opening up,the development of female photography is roughly divided into three parts.The first is the female reform pioneers in the "April Photo Group".They voiced in the wave of reform and opening up bravely,reflecting different aesthetic preferences from men.The second is the successor of War Photography.The older generation of female revolutionary photographers came from the torrent of war and carried the revolutionary spirit of hard struggle.In the new era,female photojournalists compete with men and continue to carry forward the revolutionary spirit.The third is the innovator of art.With the development of gender consciousness,female artists began to reflect on the status of women and look for themselves in the patriarchal society using the creative techniques of photography.The fourth is women’s promotion of the whole industry of photography.With the development of photography art,photography is not only an artist’s tool,but careers such as photography theory researcher,picture editing,and photography curator have emerged and enrich the development of the entire photography industry. |
