As an important part of the development of Chinese film,Red Film is influenced by the international left-wing literary trend,the Soviet socialist film movement,and the Japanese proletarian film movement.It is also closely related to the complex economic,political,and cultural background of the country.Besides,Red Film developed under the influence of Marxist literary and artistic thought.From the perspective of the generation of Red Film,it develops under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the influence of the outside world by continuous “adaptation”.The generation process is complex and difficult.From the angle of time,Red Film has experienced the Left-wing Film movement,the anti-Japanese war and the War of Liberation,and has experienced the development path from Left-wing Films to Liberated Area Films.In the three stages,they come down in a continuous line and share common features with each other.However,they are also distinctive and have different emphasis.This article takes the period from the early 1930 s of China to the founding of New China as the generation stage of red films.By combining the external environment and its own development,this article grasps the historical context and internal logic of the development of red films,and explores the relationships between the Red Film as a special literary and artistic form and the times as well as its own characteristics and its enlightenment on the contemporary artistic work.In recent years,researches about Red Film have gradually increased,but most of them focus on Red Film after the founding of the People's Republic of China.The research on the generation of Red Film before the founding of New China,that is,how the systematic analysis of how it occurs,develops,and matures is relatively few,and some people did not stand in a specific time and space context to view the Red Film at that time,resulting in a one-sided and singular stereotype.This article uses methods such as genetics and literature research to study the generation of red films,and summarizes the specific characteristics of red films at different time stages,analyzes the complexity of their generation and gives value evaluation,with a view to making a more objective discussion about the generation of red films.This article has four chapters in total.The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly introduces the research purpose and significance,research status,research paths and methods,innovations,and the definition of related concepts.The emphasis is on the interpretation of connections and differences of "Left Wings","Left-wing Films","Liberation","Liberated Area Films","Red" and "Red Films".The second chapter analyzes the special time and space background of the generation of Red Film.It grasps its complex political and cultural context from two major aspects: foreign and domestic.It mainly analyzes the left-wing ideological trend,the international film movement,and the domestic background.The Red Film is generated under the complex background of the "joint force" of the two.The third chapter analyzes the development and evolution of the Red Film under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,which emphasizes the reality and political expression from the perspective of Left-wing Film movement,the anti-Japanese war and the War of Liberation.The fourth chapter is to analyze the complexity of the generation of Red Films.The fourth chapter is the reflection on the generation of Red Film,which mainly analyzes the complexity of the generation of Red Film and the characteristics of "the blend of politics and art".Complexity means that the Red Film develops in a tortuous way.It shows that it has suffered different degrees of attacks at different time stages,and it is difficult to move forward in the struggle.Its characteristics of "the blend of politics and art" mean that based on the Marxist standpoint,it is supposed to use dialectical materialism and historical materialism to view the Chinese film art career,and discuss the evaluation standards of literature and art including film and the inspiration of Red Film.
