Tsong-kha-pa inherited and developed the conception of the Prasangika. Its theoretical core is the the compatibility of dependent-arising and emptiness.Based on the emptiness of self-nature,it maintains the effectiveness of conventional truth. In the twentieth century, translations of Tibetan Madhyamika such as Tsong-kha-pa,etc.flooded the East Asian Han Buddhist world.Under this background,Master Yin Shun and S.Matsumoto adopted different interpretations of Tsong-kha-pa,revealed two relationship structures of emptiness and dependent-arising.The article begins with a brief review of the dependent-arising and development of this issue in a broad context, determining the scope of the article— new understandings of the relationships between dependent-arising and emptiness of Tsong-kha-pa by modern East Asian Buddhist researchers.Tsong-kha-pa developed the thought of differentiating “the existence of dharma”and“the existence of self-nature ” in chapter 24 and chapter 25 of Madhyamakakarika.By criticizing the realists, the validity of the conventional being is maintained on the basis of non-existing of self.Tsong-kha-pa refuted the two fallacies on the scope of refuting: too wide and too narrow, and he established the compatibility of the dependent-arising and emptiness.Yin Shun inherited the basic spirit of Tsong-kha-pa's thoughts and used it on measurement on modern buddhism.Yinshun's view is consistent with that of Tsong-kha-pa on the topic of dependent-arising,non-self and emptiness, which refute realists.Other than Tsong-kha-pa,Yin Shun does not believe it a must to realise dependent-arising and emptiness at the same time in the realm of meditation. Therefore,in practice,Yin Shun adheres to the Humanistic Buddhism in which Nirvana can be realised without leaving the secular world, and realized the compatibility of the secular world and transcendence, but there are some criticism of the Humanistic Buddhism is that it is too secular.S.Matsumoto criticized Tsong-kha-pa 's dependent-arising and emptiness thoughts.By explaining self-nature as something equivalent to the Dharma,he undermined the distinguish made by Tsong-kha-pa between the existence of the Dharma and the self-nature which is in order to maintain conventional being. He interpreted the emptiness in madhyamakakarika as the nothingness, which separated the dependent-arising and the emptiness.S.Matsumoto proposed that emptiness is the nothingness of dharma. He enlarged the distance between dependent-arising and emptiness, denied the consistent of two truths and separated religion from daily life,in order to avoid the dangers of the compatibility of emptiness and dependent-arising in practice: Esoteric Buddhism and vulgarization, but therefore he moved towards absolute nihilism. This inspired us to think about a question: The distance between the religionary transcendence and the daily life, and the effort to pay out in order to eliminate the distance.
