From the Qing dynasty to the Republic of China,children’s hats with Jin style are the representative of customs in the region named “Jin” and traditional Chinese costume culture.Children’s hats with Jin style are unique in terms of styles and shapes,as there is an age restriction.They mainly focus on the practicality and aesthetics;as for the decorations on the hats,they presents the features of broad themes and complicated techniques,which has distinct artistic characteristics;there is a long history in development and evolution of children’s hats with Jin style.During the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,they already contained diversified regional characteristics and folk traditions;at the same time,Children’s hats with Jin style has developed different shapes,delicate decorations and Jin-style features in this period,which is a way to convey the concern and love for children,the expectation for a better life and is an excellent inheritance and perfect combination between traditional Chinese culture and local folk traditions.This dissertation will focus on the study of children’ hats with Jin style,popular in the region named “Jin”from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.I would start with collecting and sorting different children’s images,combining them with the relevant literature and historical data and referring to the relevant research methods to summarize their types and features in different history periods.Discover the reasons why children’s hats are popular in that time via taking the social background into consideration.After that,there is a detailed description about the modelling design,colorful embroidered decoration techniques,color collocation,decorative pattern and charming cultural connotation,aiming to show the features of Chinese traditional costume culture and folk traditions in the local area.In conclusion,the children’ hats with Jin style definitely has regional features from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China and contains diversified cultural connotations,which is the result that local residents adapt well to the natural environment and social culture.
