| The thesis, taking the over 1000 metal accessories in Tianshui Museum as the research target, first conducts an arrangement based on classification, then discusses their type, age, decoration position and corresponding cultural connotation embedded. Most of the accessories are made of hollowed copper rather than gold or silver foil.According to appearance, they fall into three divisions: the accessories of geometric shape, accessories of anomaly, and accessories of animal shape, the first of which occupies the largest share. As these accessories are very similar to those excavated from Majiayuan Site,Liuping site,Wangwa Cemetery Site, and due to the fact that the tradition of decorating cart and oxcart with various luxurious metal accessories can only be found in Western Rong Culture popular in the Period of Warring States, they were first judged as the remains of Western Rong Culture, and then, carriage accessories later.Referring to the Majiayuan Site and relevant research,it can be speculated that the age of these accessories dates back to the time between late Warring States Period to Qin Dynasty. In spite of the fact that these accessories are mainly used in positions like coach, wheel, wheel hub and shaft, they do exhibit various cultural elements via shape, texture, craft, etc.,the most prominent of which belong to indigenous culture specific to Western Rong, together with Central Plain Culture,Northern Grassland Culture and Western Culture.Through the diverse culture elements,it is reasonable to infer that there were flourishing cultural exchanges in Tianshui at that time.If Tianshui, with predominant geographic location, provides space for cultural exchanges, then citizens of the powerful Qin State must serve as the most important channel for cultural exchanges. |
