This report is based on the New Carbon Architecture by Bruce King,an American green building expert. The translator excerpted the third chapter, the fourth chapter and the fifth chapter of the book for translation, totaling more than 12356 words. After the completion of translation practice, the translator summarized the problems encountered in the process of translation, and then wrote this practice report to explore the translation methods and strategies applicable in the process of scientific and technological translation. This report is mainly divided into four parts: task description, translation process, case study and conclusion. The first two parts mainly introduce the main content of the original text, the language style, the main contents of the translated chapters,as well as the preparation before translation, the translation process and the specific work after translation. The third part is the case study.Through macro thinking, logical thinking, critical thinking and investigation, the author finds and solves the problems of comprehension, expression and adaptation in the translation, and uses the translation framework of Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation(CEA framework for short)from Professor Li Changshuan to analyze the problems.Comprehension is the most difficult part in translation. The author needs to spend a lot of time and energy to solve the problems in comprehension through cross validation by mobilizing macro thinking, researching background knowledge, making up professional deficiencies and using logical reasoning. The main problems raised in the expression part are inaccurate translation of terms, structural cloning of sentences and mechanical correspondence of words. In terms of adaptation,we should pay attention to the flexibility and appropriateness of translation. The author puts forward the flexible methods, which include proper omission of translation, flexible handling of metaphor and supplementary interpretation. The fourth part summarizes the translation process and emphasizes that the homework in the pre-translation stage must be done very well.In the stage of while-translation,it is very important to carry out research with a rigorous attitude and scientific methods.
