Teachers will deliberately violate the regular usage rules of personal pronouns and use the referential shift function of personal pronouns to accomplish the special communicative purposes.Basing on the data of Elementary Chinese intensive reading class,this paper uses the quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to make a statistical analysis of the routine usage of personal pronouns which in class first,and sums up the common functional types of expression.Then this paper discusses the usage of personal pronouns which in class in detail,and explains the distribution of quantity,the context condition of class and the function of referential shift.At the same time,it also discusses the possibility of the non-occurring type of referential shift which in class.It is found that there are three types of referential shift,such as“change of person”“change of number”“co-change of person and number”.Also,there are more types of of referential shift with first and second person pronouns in teaching language,and the phenomenon of the third person pronouns’ referential shift is not significant.As far as the different types of referential shift are concerned,the change of person reflects the teacher’s adjustment of teacher-student relationship and the psychological distance;the change of number reflects the teacher’s emphasis on the individual or collective characteristics of students;the co-change of person and number not only reflects the teacher’s adjustment of teacher-student relationship,but also reflects the teacher’s control over the range of the number of objects emphasized.The research of this paper has a certain reference value for improving the level of Mandarin teacher’s teaching language,which helps to establish a more harmonious relationship between teachers and students,create a good learning atmosphere,and improve the teaching efficiency.
