In order to study the development of oral Chinese fluency for international students in China, this study took 6 Chinese learners of the fall 2019 project of C.V.Starr-Middlebury School in Hangzhou,China as the research object, and took the task of "answering questions" as the experimental content. The development of oral fluency for 15 weeks was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively.According to the measurement index of oral fluency, the author had two oral English tests in the first week and the last week respectively, and quantified the test results. The results showed that the six learners had significant changes in speech speed and average flow length, indicating that the learners' oral fluency in Chinese was improved as a whole, but the development of oral fluency among learners was not consistent, indicating that their oral fluency was not balanced.According to the change of learners' oral fluency data and the content of students' interviews, the author analyzes the factors that may affect the development of learners' oral fluency, and finds that the setting of the project, individual factors of learners, classroom content,cross-cultural adaptation and other aspects have an impact on learners' oral fluency.Make the corresponding teaching measures to ensure the effective output of the language;teaching means diversification, rational use of teaching resources;flexible choice of topics, combined with students reality;pay attention to the accuracy of students' discourse;pay attention to the cultivation of students' cross-cultural adaptability;Pay attention to teaching methods and teacher training. It provides the basis for Chinese teachers to adjust their oral teaching contents, methods and strategies, and provides reference cases for learners to adjust their learning methods.
