Research On Substantives Of Shi Lin Guang Ji

The research object of this dissertation is the substantives of Shi Lin Guang Ji of the Hekeben,written in Song and Yuan Dynasty.We have mainly discussed the types of substantives in the book,the motivation for word formation,the relationship between name and entities,and the cultural characteristics reflected.The substantives in Shi Lin Guang Ji have the following characteristics:(1)showing the style of The Times,language popularization;(2)more words with the different names but same entity;(3)polysyllabic vocabulary dominate,and the word formation methods are diverse.The paper is divided into the following six chapters.The first chapter makes an introduction of the compiler and editions of the Shi Lin Guang Ji,determines the vocabulary research based on the copybook,combs the research status,and establishes the research method.The second chapter first makes a definition of the substantives,combined with the book arrangement features,divides the substantives into geographical categories,property categories,clothing categories and other twelve categories,and generalizes the characteristics of substantives in Shi Lin Guang Ji.The third chapter discusses the word-formation motivations of the substantives in Shi Lin Guang Ji,which are analyzed from six aspects: phonetic motivation,feature motivation,efficiency motivation,rhetorical motivation,synthesis motivation,and cultural motivation.The fourth chapter makes an introduction of the special name-entity relationship between the substantives in Shi Lin Guang Ji,explores the reasons for the phenomenon of the different name but same entity,and analyzes the word formation of polysyllabic words in ancient and modern Chinese.The fifth chapter describes the cultural and entertainment activities with the characteristics of the times and the development of science and technology based on the substantives recorded in Shi Lin Guang Ji.The sixth chapter studies mainly on some Substantives of Shi Lin Guang Ji which haven't been recorded in the Chinese Dictionary,and make a supplementary for the dictionary.The conclusion part gives a summary of this paper,and points out the inadequacies in the research.Finally,further research that can be carry on is also discussed in brief.
