Landlords Becoming The Enemies:the Construction Of Class Consciousness In The Process Of Land Reform In National And Religious Region

Ethnic identity and religious faith are the special factors to maintain the relationship between landlords and peasants in Xinjiang province.The rural society has the obvious gap between the rich and the poor,but the permanent fate relations based on the faith and the deep national consciousness have greatly minimized the class division and class antagonism.In the land reform around in Xinjiang,peasants' awareness for the landlord,from 'we are the people of god" to "landlord is the enemy",reveals a huge contrast.Peasants' class attributes appear to experience a huge change from scratch.Therefore,the interactive relationship among the national nature,religious nature and class nature is worth studying.Based on the research background of ethnic and religious relations in Xinjiang,this paper,by the investigation of oral history to the 18 peasants who were experiencing the land reform in person in Wushi Town and combining with the historical archives and the official data,reproduces the details of behavior and change in thought on peasants in the process of land reform,reveals the causes of peasants' behavior changing and thought transformation,analyzes the process of peasants9 constructing the class consciousness in the land reform and discusses the effectiveness of class consciousness.According to the paper,the peasants without experiencing a revolution in Xinjiang are not without the class attributes,but the identity of nationality and religion covers the class differences,which also causes a harmonious relationship between landlords and peasants before the land reform.As the communist party of China implements a series of class strategy and national religious policy in the process of land reform,peasants' personal interests reveal in the form of class interests and class conflicts.At this point,the peasants' class consciousness is constructed,and also class behavior is constantly strengthened by the domination of it.However,the construction of class consciousness is not only dominated by the core event of land reform,but works through the whole process of regime governance by the communist party in Xinjiang.
