Since 20 th century,family foundations have undergone a hundred-year development,playing a critical role in addressing the social problems and promoting social innovation as an effective charity department,which pushes the charity cause to new era.In China,with the development of socialism economy,accumulation of private wealth,the spread of philanthropy theory and establishment of the foundation management regulations,the family foundations are booming.The family foundations are the new practitioners and important strength in philanthropy and have become the useful organizations for entrepreneurs to give back and pass on their wealth to next generation.Studying family foundations in China helps reinforce the development of family foundations comparatively.There aren't adequate relevant researches nationwide especially concerning the internal management which has become a barricade for some family foundations to grow in China.As a result,family foundations are analyzed under the overall social and economic background in the thesis to discuss a practicable way of sustainable internal management.Family foundations can help connect various platforms with each other,tap more resources from business to charities,reinforce the cooperation and innovation for different industries,and optimize resources,giving impetus to the sustainable development of philanthropy.Family foundations advocates for equality,mutual help and inclusivity,providing equal access for the disadvantaged group through the share in education,environmental management,medical care,social welfare and art etc.The widening gap between the rich and the poor renders the entrepreneurs realize that to attain goal of the sustainable growth and to pass on their wealth successfully entail the objectives of more than maximizing the profits but to combine their interests with ones of people from the bottom to bridge the gap between the affluent and the backward.In this way,the wealthy can boost the demand of the poor to spark market dynamics through helping the deprived.That's why the family foundations are founded.Family foundations from China have encountered several problems regarding the internal management such as transparency,directors of board,human resources and projects management due to their own defects and outer regulations.To find a suitable development mode for family foundations in China is the key to solving the problems considering the internal management.The family foundations in China and America will be analyzed respectively.The experiences of internal management of family foundations from America set examples for reference to enhance the internal management of family foundations in China based on the institutional background.After studying the current situation,several problems and relevant causes of internal management will be analyzed.Family foundations in America encountered similar problems before and have overcome them in various ways,which can be served as the experiences for family foundations in China.However,it is also necessary to consider the cultural and institutional background in China to better explore and form the suitable development mode for family foundations in China.For family foundations,fair organization system and enhanced operation based on the local institutional conditions are required for progress.
