A Study On Wallerstein's World System Theory

As the world system theory pioneer,Wallerstein taking the whole world as the unit of analysis,and from the perspective of the division of labor in the world,he used long-term and wide-ranging historical research methods to comprehensively construct the world system theory from three levels of economy,politics and culture.He believes that due to the division of labor and unequal exchanges,the world system has formed a hierarchical structure of central-half edge-edge.This article aims to demonstrate the serious inequality within the world system through the study of Wallerstein's world system theory.Especially in today's globalization,all countries should be more accurate in identifying the role of the world system,which is conducive to creating a harmonious symbiotic human destiny community.The paper is divided into four parts:The first part grasps Wallerstein's world system theory as a whole,and summarizes the research status quo at home and abroad,which reflects the necessity of studying the theory.The content of the second part is the generative perspective of Wallerstein's world system theory.It mainly discusses the background of Wallerstein's world system theory and the origin of the theory.The third part mainly discusses the basic construction of Wallerstein's world system theory,and comprehensively discusses the basic content of Wallerstein's world system theory.First,the concepts,logical assumptions and characteristics of the world system are discussed.Second,from the economic level,the process of forming and operating the world system is explained.Again,to introduce the political aspect,a multi-level national system is an important symbol of the modern world system.Finally,on the basis of economy and politics,the modern world system is characterized by diversity and convergence at the cultural level.The fourth part mainly evaluates Wallerstein's world system theory.From the brief evaluation of the theory and the theoretical difficulties,we can find out the inspiration for the development of this theory.
