After Accession To The Wto, China's Textile Export Strategy Research

China is the biggest producer and exporter of textile in the world. The producing and exporting of textile is utmost important to Chinese economic development and foreign exchange balance. For a long time, as one of the main adversaries, China is suffering kinds of discriminating tariffs and none-tariffs barriers built by developed countries. Entry into WTO is bringing Chinese textile potential opportunity and bright future as well as immediate serious challenge.Beginning with theory of comparing edge and competitive edge, this paper analyses the advantage and disadvantage of Chinese textile industry among the international trade, details the opportunity and difficulties come along with the Chinese entry into WTO. Aiming of upgrading China from the biggest textile country to the strongest one in the global economic integration, based on the theory of competitive edge, the author raises some suggestions to Chinese textile industry which is under the change of domestic competition into global competition on every side. To take the good chance and the challenge when we become member of WTO, should we apply WTO rules to protect and promote Chinese textile industry, create competitive edge while keep making full use of present comparing edge.
